Wedding Ceremonies
First, let me say Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!
Your wedding day should be one that you and your partner will remember for the rest of your lives.
I would be honored to perform your wedding at any place which is special to you and your partner and help you celebrate one of the most special of days in your life.
There are many options to choose from when planning a wedding. You can choose to have a very small, intimate affair with you and your intended, two witnesses and a Celebrant or you can go as large as your budget will allow.
Since I am located on the North Coast of NSW, wedding and reception locations are almost endless! Our area offers many different settings for your special day, from an outdoor setting on a beach, riverside at sunset, to a beautiful indoor setting at any one of the local resorts. Maybe at dawn in a hot air balloon! A theme wedding such as Medieval or 60’s.The decision is yours and endless.
I have a selection of resources to help you create a beautiful ceremony that is unique to you. I will work with you to ensure that your ceremony reflects the wishes and hopes and personalities of you and your partner.
The first step of the Journey
As soon as you decide that you would like me to conduct your ceremony, you need to secure a booking. I accept bookings up to 18 months ahead, especially for the popular summer season.
Once a booking has been made with me, an interview time will be arranged. At this interview we will discuss what is needed for the legal requirements. The first legal requirement is that a ‘Notice of Intended Marriage’ must be lodged with me, a maximum of 18 months and a minimum of one clear calendar month prior to the date of your marriage. You both need to be over the age of 18 years. I need to see an original birth certificate for each of you if you are Australian citizens, or a current passport if you were born overseas and do not have your birth certificate. I require evidence of termination of any previous marriage, or of a change of name.
To secure the day and time of your marriage a deposit of $100.00 will be required. No date will be reserved without this fee. In the event of a cancellation; the booking fee is not refundable.
We will discuss your ceremony and the use of rituals, symbolic acts and having family or friends involved, or anything else that you may wish to incorporate into your ceremony. I will provide you with a copy of my Ceremonies Guidebook to take home or a password to the client area tab on this website. I will be available via email and phone to guide you through this next step of putting your ceremony together.
The second step of the Journey
You will provide me with the wording you would like used, what readings and any symbolic acts that you wish to include. The more that is written or chosen by you, the more unique your ceremony will be. During this time, I will be able to create a ceremony that reflects your individual choices. A draft copy of this ceremony will be sent to you for changes and your approval.
The final meeting before the big day is usually about 1-2 weeks before the event, if possible a rehearsal at the location of the wedding. At this time, we will look at positioning the bridal party, rehearse any rituals chosen and discuss final preparations, including any late changes to the ceremony. Final payment is due completing the total cost of the Ceremony fee. At this time we will sign the declaration that you are free to marry.
The final step of the Journey
On the day, I will arrive at the wedding location at least ½ hour prior to the ceremony. During this time I will check all of the necessary arrangements, set up a table for the signing of your marriage certificate, chat with the groom & members of the bridal party and liaise with the venue operators if necessary.
